Family Mediation Voucher Scheme

Resolve family issues without the cost of court – and with up to £500 in government funding

Did you know that you may be eligible for a £500 voucher to help pay for family mediation?

The Family Mediation Voucher Scheme is a government initiative designed to make mediation more accessible to separating families. It covers the cost of up to £500 worth of mediation sessions, allowing you to work through parenting arrangements and avoid the stress, delays, and expense of going to court.

What does the voucher cover?

Up to £500 towards mediation sessions
For separating or separated parents discussing child arrangements
Does not depend on income, it’s not means-tested
Can be used even if you’ve already started the mediation process

Who is eligible?

You may qualify for the scheme if:

You are separating or have been separated
You are discussing child arrangements (e.g. where your children live, how they spend time with each parent)
At least one parent attends a MIAM (Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting) with a participating provider

Single Parents Support and Advice Services

Single Parents Support and Advice Services (SPSAS) is a charity for single parents across the UK. We promote equal and fair treatment of single parents and their children. We help single parents by giving them access to services and support that they would not normally have access to for a number of reasons. We run groups that provide members with support on issues such as mental health, domestic abuse, and children with additional needs. This has a positive impact on our 46,000 members as they feel less alone, less isolated and can interact on our on-line events. We offer care hampers (funding permitting) to the most vulnerable single parent families which is an on-line shop delivered with a weeks worth of food and essentials in it. We also offer energy top ups to members who cannot afford to top up their prepayment meters, as due to the cost of living crisis our referrals have doubled and it really is a choice between heat or eat. We also have a charity shop which we are low priced or if the family is really struggling we donate the goods that they need, we are not about making money, its about helping the local community. We find we get really positive feedback on this.
